KWASSIE’s workshops are designed to give you a hands-on introduction to an artistic medium such as watercolour, acrylic painting, gouache or collage.
Made easy to follow for everyone – all in just one session.
Our approach is supportive and non-judgmental, focused on learning core techniques, exploring creative expression, and enjoying the process. Each session is beginner-friendly and guided by professional working artists teaching in both English and German.
In our workshops, you get practical instruction, inspiration from art history, and personalized guidance to help you start developing your own artistic voice — all in a relaxed, welcoming studio environment.

The Art of Gouache

NEW TECHNIQUES AND APPROACHES WITH COLLAGE
Collage Fun with ANITA KROÓ
Join us for a vibrant, one‑day mixed‑media collage workshop that invites playful experimentation. Led by award-winning artist Anita Kroo, who studied at the renowned Pratt Institute in New York, and inspired by Henri Matisse’s paper‑cut techniques and the instructor’s own studio practice, we’ll layer hand‑cut shapes with expressive passages of acrylic paint, applying simple printmaking tricks to add unexpected texture and rhythm. A quick visual tour of contemporary and historical collage artists will spark ideas before you dive into making.

Textured Painting Workshop
This Saturday afternoon workshop explores new creative possibilities with slower, more mindful painting. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:

- Use modelling paste to build depth and sculptural effects (impasto)
- Experiment with engraving to scratch, carve and reveal hidden layers

Get Started with Acrylics on Canvas
Light, Shadow & Geometry
In this workshop you will learn the foundations of acrylic painting through one of the most satisfying exercises there is — painting geometric objects with real dimension. Using studio-original templates, you will work through colour mixing, grading, shading and colour theory, and learn how to create the illusion of space through shadow and highlights.
It is technical, focused and surprisingly meditative. You will also get familiar with all the tools and materials used in acrylic painting, so you leave feeling oriented and ready to continue independently.
